Miracles From Heaven Review

Miracles from Heaven is a Christianity based movie. It is based on the true story of Annabell Beam and her amazing journey with an illness that was incurable until she fell three stories from a tree. In the movie her mother asks the doctor how and why this was possible saying in quite possibly the most powerful line of the whole movie, "You're telling me that his little girl fell thirty feet, hit her head just right, and it didn't killer her and it didn't paralyze her but it healed her?"

This movie is an unbelievable story even for a Christian, but little girls that dream of Paris and enjoy a good book can't just make up one of the most amazing pictures of an untouchable world. This will contain spoilers.

Mr. and Mrs. Beam of Texas have a beautiful home, three beautiful little girls, and plenty of animals to last a life time. "It is a good life" They say to each other at the beginning of this story. A church going family with the support of their community and each other find themselves in a very unexpected time of trouble when their middle daughter starts to throw up in the middle of a night and it takes three trips to the hospital to find out that she has a rare disorder that means she can't digest her food.  This 10 year old goes through terrible stages of insecurities and pain including the pain of loss. While in a hospital in Boston she meets a little girl with cancer who she gives the cross necklace that she has worn around her neck from the beginning of the movie. This is an act of kindness that brings the little girl with cancer some hope and peace in her disease. Her father, who was not a Christian, was slightly offended by this gesture and confronted Anna's mother in the hallway. He was by no means disrespectful, but merely expressed his concern in a false hope. What he didn't realize was the Mrs. Beam was also feeling the presence of hopelessness.  She had stopped going to church because of a few judgemental peers.
There is one day when Anna is back in Texas with the whole family and her older sister asks her to climb and old tree in their yard with her. Anna is hesitant but they climb and they are happy to enjoy the good old times. When a branch starts to break and Anna falls from the tree. This terrifying event reveals Anna to be cured and that she has briefly encountered God and his plans for her. She says they didn't talk using words but that she just knew.

This movie was a risk to make no doubt. There are always going to be people who don't believe or understand the faith, but it is an incredible story that I am glad to have seen. The movie ends with a look into the family that the story is based on. This was an amazing movie tho have been made. I think that the casting was incredible with Jennifer Garner as Mrs. Beam and Martin Henderson as Mr. Beam. Kylie Rogers is the brave little girl to take on the story of Anna Beam and she does an awesome job. She is a good little actress and I can expect a big future from this girl.

This golden movie was directed by Patricia Riggen and is based on the book that was written by Christy Beam herself. For the screenplay they used Randy Brown's adaptation from the book and it turned out magnificent.  I can't say how accurate the book and the movie are to each other because I have never read the book, but I certainly want to now and I will let you all know more when and if I read it.  The music for this movie is contemporary Christian music mostly but there are a few secular pieces thrown in.  All of it fits and works and I loved it all. This movie is beautifully made and it is heartwrenching but necessary.  I loved it. I give this movie a 4.25 out of 5 stars. I recommend it. Easter

Happy Easter Everyone!

I have had a wonderful day. I love Easter very much. I have such happy memories of Easter. I used to love waking up and going to see what the Easter bunny brought me. Today I have treated myself to my own Easter basket. It's not really a basket but I got a bunch of my favorite Easter treats and some little gifts. I know I know. It's totally weird to give yourself an Easter basket. That wasn't the intent. I just happened to get a lot of candy along with some material things.

In celebration of Easter, my roommate and I went to see the movie "Miracles from Heaven". I really enjoyed it. You can look forward to a review about it soon. It really helped me realize how much I can see God in my life. Miracles can happen everyday in the smallest things and the crazy thing is I started to see that yesterday. This opportunity I have been given in Disney has made particularly aware of how much God actually listens to me and my prayers. He really pays attention and I love that I can see that. I am so grateful for the things he has given me.

That's the whole point of Easter. God sent his son to live with us, die for us, and rise again. It is an amazing expression of his love for us. On this Easter I hope you can see how much God loves you and I hope you have a wonderful day.

4 Parks 1 Day

So I have a plan for doing all four parks in one day. Obviously I won't get to do everything, but I know these parks well enough to know which rides I really want to ride. So here are some tips for how to do four parks in one day at Disney World.

Look at Park Hours
All the parks open at the same time, but really what you want to look for is what time they close.
Based on the closing time, here is the order that I will do them.

1. Animal Kingdom
2. Hollywood Studios
3. EPCOT
4.Magic Kingdom

Youngest to oldest.

Choose your all time Favorites
I planned on doing about three rides in each park. I like the shows but I can live without them and I really look forward to the rides.

Animal Kingdom

  1. Expedition Everest
  2. Dinosaur
  3. Kali River Rapids (I haven't decided about this one because I don't want to be soaked all day.)
Hollywood Studios
  1. Tower of Terror
  2. Rock n'Roller Coaster
  3. The Great Movie Ride
EPCOT
  1. Test Track
  2. Mission Space
  3. Figment
Magic Kingdom
  1. Splash Mountain
  2. Peter Pan
  3. Thunder Mountain
  4. Space Mountain
Fast Passes
I got Fast Passes for Tower of Terror and Rock n'Roller Coaster because I know those will always have a long line and the single rider trick doesn't work well for Rock n'Roller Coaster. I am also lucky and have two Fast Passes for Magic Kingdom because I was in line when something broke down so I am going to use one on Peter Pan and one on either Thunder or Space, but I am just gonna wait in line for Splash, Mission Space, and single rider Test Track because that one actually works.

Time Yourself Appropriately
I have to over estimate the time because you never know, but don't worry I will write a review on my little plan and share with you how well it actually went. I am very excited for this day because I get to do this all by myself and that has never happened.

Let me know how well you think this will go in the comments below and have a wonderful day!

Zootopia Review

At the beginning of the preview for this movie a few months ago I thought, "Oh jeez, another animal movie." But the clip they showed in the preview was funny, and new. I was pleasantly surprised. about a month later I was in Disney World where there was the hidden treasure of a sneak preview of the movie in Magic Kingdom. It featured the same scene in the first one I saw, and so much more. I could already tell I wanted to see this movie. The music was awesome and the humor was witty, but what really got me about this movie was the animation. It was simply beautiful. (It looks better on screen trust me.)

I mean look at this landscape. It put me in a state of awe. It got my imagination flowing and not just the landscapes were great, so were the tiny details. Sometimes I look at this picture and the details are so on point that I forget it's a mole that's sitting in this chair as a mock up of the Godfather.

I got to see this movie with amazing friends down in Disney and I loved it.

***Minor Spoilers***
Zootopia is a movie about an evolved animal habitat. They can speak and coexist without having to eat each other or hide. One thing that hasn't changed much is the stereotypes of some animals. Bunnies for instance only seem to run carrot farms and that's all. There has never been a bunny cop ever, until Judy Hopps. She is a bunny police officer that intends on changing the world and with the help of her Fox friend Nick (keep in mind that Foxes in our world would normally eat bunnies, but in this futuristic utopia they are friends) she really thought she had done it. In reality, she made things worse, until she figured out what she did wrong and really did help change the world in a good way.

Directed by Byron Howard, Rich Moore, and Jared Bush, who also wrote the screenplay, this movie couldn't have been more perfectly laid out. It will fill your heart with childlike joy when you watch this movie and that is the best kind of joy. Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Bateman voice the two main characters that steal your heart and they make a great team.

This movie is computer animated and though I miss the old way of doing things, I don't think you have captured such a majestic city with anything else. There's a certain sparkle behind it. The music was perfect and featured a new song by Shakira called "Try Everything". I love this song. It's empowering and awesome and it really helped to set the stage for the magnificent city of Zootopia. The motto of this city is, "Anyone can be anything". Perfect.

As you can tell I loved this movie. I think that Disney is headed in for a brand new golden age, not that they ever really disappoint, but my hope is renewed every time I walk into the theater to watch a Walt Disney Production. I give this movie and five star rating. Well done Disney Productions, well done.

Roommate Calendar

We have two calendars in our apartment to keep track of everyone's schedule. We have 8 girls in one apartment and it's hard to remember all the different work times. We have two big calendars that we all use communally. You don't really need two calendars but that's just how we ended up.

The first amazing idea for a calendar is a poster frame, something cheap with paint swatches from Home Depot and arrange them so that each person is a different color and do it one week at a time. Use expo markers to write what times you are working for the week. We did a simple rainbow but you could do any color scheme you like.

The other calendar is an office calendar and each person writes their times in a different color. Use the lines to your advantage.

These are great and if we ever need to see what time someone works, we have it hanging on the wall. I hope this helps those of you like me with multiple roommates and I hope you enjoyed. Have a wonderful day.
