8 Ways the Iron Bowl is Like the Hunger Games

This time of year is one of the most stressful for an Auburn fan. Sure it's near Christmas, which is stressful by itself. And I know that finals are just around the corner, but I am talking about something much bigger than all that. The Iron Bowl rivals events such as the Hunger Games. In fact, here are a few way that the Iron Bowl and the Hunger Games are very much the same.

1. The capitol (of Alabama) probably has a law that all Alabama residents must watch it.

2. It's a life or death situation. (or 365 days of bragging rights.)

3. There is a pride that comes with this day.

4. It's the most important day of rivalry week.

5. It has a long history. 122 years to Hunger Games' 75.
(or according to Finnick, 76.)

6. There are some pretty eccentric fans of the iron bowl.

7. Only one comes out.

8. And all the memorable moments.

So those are my thoughts on how very similar the Iron Bowl is to the Hunger Games. Happy Iron Bowl everyone and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The Grace of God

In church, the lesson was about the grace or God. It was a really great lesson and it spoke to me in many ways. It was ironic to me because I had wanted to write a blog post on the grace of God anyway. I hope you enjoy this post and I hope you get something out of it!

What is God's grace?
Grace from God is the same as blessings from God. What's great is that you can be a part of God's grace to others. Grace also means kindness and by being kind to others you are showing the grace of God. It's like the saying, "lead by example." The best way to be a light for God is to be a light for God.

Grace in my Life
God has blessed me with so much grace. He has given me an amazing family, wonderful friends, the opportunity to study at my dream school, another opportunity to work at the most magical place in the world, and he fills me with joy every day to walk through life with a smile on face. My favorite part of my life is that I get to come in contact with people every day and I get a chance to show them kindness and love and make their day a little brighter.

Look for Grace
Take a moment once and a while to just count your blessings. You would be surprised how much grace is your life. It might make your smile grow and help you to show people the grace that you feel.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you come back for more! Let me know how God has blessed you in the comments below!

5 Tips for A Positive Semester

I don't know about you, but I am determined to have a positive semester. Fall semester starts today and I have a few ideas on how to make this semester the best one yet. So let's get started.

1. Make a Study Plan

School is very important and to make sure your semester is great you want your grades to be great. Make a study plan that suits your schedule. Take a look at some of my posts to help below.

College Studying Game Plan

College Calendar

Test Studying Dos and Don'ts

2. Get Healthy

Being healthy and being active can really help with positivity. Get on a regimen. You don't have to go full out, especially if you are new to the fitness world but just try. Look at my fitness tips with some of my posts below.

Get Fit & Get Happy

Post Workout Yoga

3. Schedule Some Me-Time

Have some spa time, read a book that isn't on your syllabus, meditate, bake yourself a treat, watch a feel-good movie. Set aside some time to do something that makes you happy and relaxes you. Check out a few ways that I like to spend me-time with these posts.

Spa Day At Home

Meditation

4. Be Social

Go ahead and make some plans to get yourself out of the house and catch up with some old friends or make some new ones.

5. Set Goals

What do you want your GPA to be at the end of the semester? Do you want to join some new organizations? What's something you want to accomplish each day? Give yourself a reward if you reach your goals! Check out one of the organizations I'm in at Auburn in the post below.

Movie Theater Etiquette

So as we all know, I LOVE MOVIES! Sometimes, however, there are a few people who don't know how to conduct themselves in the movie theater. Here are some tips so you AREN'T one of those people because that person is n ever liked and no one wants that.

TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES They all have a silencing function. There is absolutely no excuse for your phone going off in the middle of a movie.

DON'T TALK

DON'T POINT AT THE SCREEN AND SAY WHAT YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN. For those of you thinking this is the same as the previous, it is and isn't because this is much worse.

IF YOU HAVE TO GET UP, WALK QUICKLY SO YOU AREN'T IN THE WAY LONG

IF YOU HAVE FOOD DON'T BE TOO LOUD WITH IT

DON'T KICK OR TOUCH THE CHAIR IN FRONT OF YOU IF THERE'S SOMEONE SITTING THERE

IF YOU KNOW YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GET UP, SIT ON THE EDGE

DON'T SIT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE IF YOU CAN. So they can put their feet up and you can do the same.

So for most people, this is common sense. For some, they didn't know them at all. It is considerate to try and follow these rules so bear them in mind when you go to the movies. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I hope you enjoyed and I hope you have a wonderful day.
