Proactiv+ Diaries Week 1

So I have had a full week using Proactiv+ and I really like it. It's a little slow moving physically but I can feel a difference in my skin. Overall my face feels smoother when I touch it and it doesn't feel like I have any acne on my face even if I might. This helps me not want to touch or pick my face as much.

I still haven't seen my face clear up yet, but I have been told that it takes a little while so maybe in a month I will really see a difference. So far, my skin is better than it has been so I guess we will see what happens, but of course, I will keep you all in the know.

How To Be Single Review

Me and my fabulous new roommates went on an outing to the movies! You all know how much I love the movies. We saw How To Be Single and here is what I thought of it.

So this movie was written by Marc Silverstein, Dana Fox, and Abby Kohn and directed by Christian Ditter. It has an all star cast with Rumor Wilson, Dakota Johnson, and Leslie Mann. Dakota plays a girl, Alice, just coming out of a very long term relationship with the intent to "find her self". The man she left behind was heart broken and didn't agree with the reason at all. He had dreams of marriage.

She heads to the city to work at a law firm where she meets Rumor Wilson's character Robin. When they go out to have a good time, they have a little too much fun. Robin gives Alice a lesson in how to be single. Along with Alice's sister played by Leslie Mann, these three girls figure out what exactly they want from life and from themselves.

This story is not what anyone would expect. Story lines come and some story lines go. This is life and this movie was very much realistic, which is not the usual for movies. The ending isn't sad or anything, but I think it will surprise you and you will walk away having laughed a lot and, if you are single, being much happier about the ending than if you were to watch your average chick flick. I really enjoyed this movie and I would even go again.

The set was New York, which is always a good setting. It is a common place for someone to go to find themselves. I have even thought of moving there myself after college and everything. The music was killer. It was modern stuff but it fit the moments perfectly. Other than that, yo will just have to see it yourself!

Overall the movie was a great experience. I give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend it and you should definitely catch it when you can because honestly, I have been single for a while and even I didn't know how to be single until this movie. Keep Awake

So I had a day that was exhausting to the point that I wanted to hurt someone.  It was the worst feeling ever. It's that feeling like your sick and you almost want to throw up mixed with utter crankiness.  I was so tired by the end of the day that I knocked straight out. So I have devised a list of things you can do to help keep awake on days like this.

Smile

Coffee

Candy

Eating Food

Sitting

Resting your Eyes

Hydrate

This experience happened while I was checking in for my college program. I had the earliest check in and I hadn't slept well the night before. I did realize though, that I could fake a smile better than anyone and being in Disney probably had something to do with that because I mean let's be real, would you be unhappy with getting to work and live there for six months.

Starting Over

With going to Disney approaching fast, I am feeling a little anxious about it. This feeling is very familiar to the one I had when I was getting ready to go to college. It's exciting to be going somewhere completely new and getting a chance to start over. Not like change my whole look, though I did cut my hair, and change my whole way of living and believing. I just like the idea of a fresh start. Here are some tips for going to a new place and starting over.

Know that once you get there, you will automatically start to have a good time.
There will be welcome events and new people every where and in my case there will be work.

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there.
Making friends is not the same as talking to a boy you like. I mean it can be but at the beginning of any kind of friendship all it is is you saying "Hi, my name is...." That's it.

Make sure you have a fortress of solitude.
If you are somewhere for a while, make your room a place to retreat to. Just because you are starting over doesn't mean forgetting memories. Hang some pictures, lights, and add a ton of pillows. Think cozy.

Remember why you are there.
I am going to work first. I will take classes in summer but work still comes first. Focus can be a big part of weather or not you succeed when starting over.

Keep up your faith.
Sometimes I have to take a step back and remember that God's always there for me and he's to thank.

Decide to be happy.
I am bad about letting my emotions affect me drastically. I find that when I decide to be happy in the morning it really works and I live better.

Take time to Relax.
Sometimes relaxing can be something you really need to make time for and that's okay.

So there are my tips for "starting over". Remember you are still you. Remember where you came from, but take this opportunity to take what you have learned and use it in your interactions. Proactiv+ Diaries Day 1

This week I got the Proactiv+ package. I asked my mom for this package because the commercial said that the free gift this time was the deep cleansing brush. Those are normally very expensive and I had to have it. I didn't actually expect her to get it for me, but she did so I thought I would do a diary for Proactiv+ with you all so you can see what it is like. I also must let you all know that my skin is the 2nd worst ever to exist, so if this stuff works then it must be good.

This package includes the skin smoothing exfoliator, the pore targeting treatment, and the complexion perfecting hydrator. And the brush of course. When I used it for the first time I didn't feel any discomfort except a little stinging from the hydrator. It wasn't bad and it went away soon after it began. I really liked the way my face felt even only after the first use and when I used it again the next morning, I just used a little less of the hydrator and it didn't sting at all. My face felt smoother and cleaner.

Often when I feel like I have zits I want pick and touch my face. After I use Proactiv+ I don't feel like touching my face as much. That's not to say my skin clear immediately, it just felt fresher. I have only used it for a day and I don't know for sure how my skin is going to clear up or if it will at all, but I like the way it feels so far.

I particularly like the deep cleansing brush because I feel like it cleans more then my hand could. I will keep you updated on the progress of my face (<<<<<yes I am aware that statement was strange). Grease Live Review

As a kid I absolutely loved Grease. My mom introduced it to me and it quickly became one of my favorite movies. The songs, the dancing, and the story were so amazing. On Sunday January 31st, Grease Live premiered on FOX. I sat down to watch, positive it wouldn't live up to that of the movie. I was wrong.

A production that was put on by Paramount Television and directed by Thomas Kail and Alex Rudzinski. This adaptation was very well done. As a fan of the movie I can't say I wasn't skeptical.

Julianne Hough proved to be the perfect choice for Sandy and you could tell that she did her research before the performance. There were some instances where you couldn't tell her from Olivia Newton John, except of course when she was dancing, because I still have yet to see someone who can move better than Julianne Hough. I was very pleased with her performance and I was giddy to see someone from my generation portray a character I have only dreamed of playing in my lifetime.


I was a little worried about Vanessa Hudgens' portrayal of such a sexual and almost devious character as Rizzo, but I was pleasantly surprised by her attitude for the character and I thought it remained true to the Rizzo I have come to love. Though there were still some moments, as with everyone, where I thought it strayed a little. I was also sad to hear about her father, but she proved the show must go on. even more amazing. She was Tony worthy.

Keke Palmer as Marty was certainly a surprise, but I have always known that her voice is a fantastic attribute to the show and I was very happy with her along with Carly Rae Jepsen and Kether Donohue as the other Pink Ladies. Though I wasn't a fan of the new song that was added for Carly Rae Jepsen. It's not because she didn't do a fantastic job singing it, it was because it did't fit. It was unnecessary and it didn't sound like it fit in the time period the story took place. In the middle of this song I turned to my mom and said that it definitely sounded like modern Broadway. I love modern Broadway but not in the mix of 50s style songs.

For the boys, they certainly had a different look than the boys in the movie, but they were also perfectly casted. Though I was minorly dissapointed when Aaron Tveit didn't hit the high note that John Travolta hit at the end of "Summer Lovin" as Danny Zuko, he still did an amazing job with every other note and dance move. I have been a fan of Tveit sense I saw him in Les Miserables. I thought he was fantastic as Danny.

Carlos PenaVega also does an excellent job as Kenicki. He was cool and macho and it was very entertaining to watch him. He also did his research before coming on as the co leader of the T birds because you could tell he took a lot away from Jeff Conaway's performance.

Jordan Fisher really surprised as the guitar playing T bird with an amazing voice. He was funny and entertaining and I was pleased to watch him along with David Del Rio and Andrew Call as the other T birds. They definitely had the same three Stooges act taken from the original movie.

With all these wonderful actors and other cameos such as Joe Jonas, Jessie J, Eve Plumb, Didi Conn, Mario Lopez, and Ana Gasteyer I was very pleased with Grease Live. I loved the dancing, the vocals, and everything in between. It was good to see something I loved so much made for my generation. The stage tricks were also extremely cool to see and the illusion was dead on. I give this show a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Well done to the cast and crew.

DIY Mickey/Minnie Ears!

I have made some of my very own personalized Mickey Ears. Really they are Minnie ears because I added a bow. One of my ears are Peter Pan inspired because he is my favorite character. My second pair are inspired by Auburn because I searched and searched and they haven't been made so I decided to make my own. They are pretty easy and here's how.

You will need some kind of fabric that you like. I used felt for the Peter Pan ears and some leftover cloth I had lying around. Draw circles using a cup on the cloth. You will need to two circles per ear.

You will need some card board to help the ears stay stiff. Make sure you aren't just cutting a circle,but also cutting a place for the head band.

Sew the circles of cloth around the card board and leave some room for padding. Most people use foam but I just used a few tissues in each ear. Sew the ears on to your head band. Then sew the bow. It may take a lot of trial and error to get the ears to stand up straight. I did about three layers of sewing.

Add your details! I used puffy paint for the stars and the "never grow up" and I made a tiny red feather out of a slim piece of card board.
