My Go-To Happy Playlist

On my YouTube channel, I have a playlist of a few songs that have always made me happy when I listen to the. Some of these songs may not have the happiest lyrics but the music itself is happy or I just associate it with a happy memory of some kind. These are usually a movie I love. I will share with you the songs that make me happy and why they are on my Happy Playlist.

Smile - Lily Allen
I love this song but the reason I ever listened to it in the first place was that I heard it on a J.K.Rowling documentary once and liked it a lot.

Never Let You Go - Jakaranda
We all remember that scene from parent trap that just made you so happy and excited well that's why I love this song so much.

Rush - Aly & Aj
I love this song. It's so cool and chill and I associate it with Twitches which is one of my favorite movies.

We Got The Beat - The Go Go's
This song is just so peppy and such a go-getter kind of song.

There She Goes - The La's
This song just relaxes me and makes me happy.

Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows
This song is so upbeat and fun to sing along with. It's a singing-in-the-shower favorite.

History - One Direction
This song doesn't have the most cheerful lyrics but the song itself is fun and foot tapping.

The Wire - Haim
When I first heard this song I loved the retro feel to it and how even though it felt like a revisit to another decade it was still so different.
It's Easy - Mia Sable
For those of you that have never watched Southern Charm, this is the opening song to that show and it is so forties worthy, flirty, and fun. I love it.

These are just a few of the songs that make me happy and I am always open to suggestions so leave your happy songs in the comments below!!! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

School Calendar

This is a view of my calendar for school this summer. There are only two and half months for these classes so I did one piece of paper and the two full months on either side. There was June on one side and July on the other. I put any May assignment dates on a post-it note on top of June. This can be easily modified for a regular school semester. I color coded my subjects and I would do the same for any additional responsibilities. Write down all the assignments that you will need to remember in their coordinated colors. The colors also make it semi-pleasing to look at. Make sure to capitalize exams, especially your finals.

DIY Wedding Est. Sign

I made this sign for my brother and their new wife and I thought I would share it with all of you and I am quite proud of it. So let's start with supplies.

How to white-wash wood: Paint a coat of white wash on the wood, let it sit for about a minute or two and then wipe it off with a rag. Wipe with the grain of the wood. Do this for as many coats as you think is needed.

Use a stencil for the delicate designs.

Sketch the words with a pencil.

Uses a lighter shade of the main color for the smaller words.

This is the end product.

If you would like me to make this for you leave a comment below and we can discuss a price. I love to do things like this and I did it within a couple of days. I can do different fonts or a different shape. We can discuss any changes you may want. I hope you enjoyed seeing my process for this sign!

Eye Shadow Basics

The keys to remember when you are doing you eye make-up is that it's a similar concept to contouring. You want your crease to be darker than the rest of your eye lid.

You can do an easy eye look with just three colors and of course some eyeliner(both a liquid and a water liner), and mascara. Below is my model......yes I drew it because I decided my eyelid looked funny.

You'll need two matte colors one to be two-four shades darker than the other. One light sparkle for highlighting. A key palette to have for eyes is something similar to a Naked palette. They are such good neutral and good quality shades for any eye look. You can go from Natural to Smokey in 12 shades.
Where to Accent
Neutralize the whole lid from top lash line to brow. Shade #1. This lighter shade will also help in highlighting the brow bone and the corner of your eye.

Contour the crease. Make almost a c-shape with crease and your lash line. Shade #4. If you go under you bottom lash like with this shade, it will help make it look more smokey.

Highlight the top(middle) of the lid. Shade #3. Just place it mostly in the middle of your lid but then blend it across your whole lid.

Final Touches
Eye-liner. Line anyway you want or not at all on the top lid and do the same for the bottom water line. (Ignore my awful drawing of a winged eyeliner.)

Mascara. Do a couple of layers of mascara on the top lash line to make your lashes look full without falsies. You can also do the bottom lashes but I don't do them myself.

All in all, make-up comes down to one thing. Do what you feel comfortable and beautiful with and know that you are beautiful regardless........but we all know make-up is fun.

Butter Beer Recipe

For those of you that know and love Harry Potter as much as I do, you will know what butter beer is. We all know we can get this sweet drink at Universal studios, but how can you get it when you can't get there? You make it. How? You ask. Let me enlighten you. I learned how to make this from Pottermore.com way back in the day before it's two renovations.

Ingredients:

  1. Cream Soda
  2. Redi Whip
  3. Butter Scotch Syrup
There are two different directions to follow. One for the drink and one for the topping.

The Drink:
  1. 1Tbsp of Butter Scotch syrup in a cup. (I add a little extra.)
  2. Fill the cup with Cream soda leaving about an inch and a half until the rim.
  3. Stir well.
The Topping:
  1. 1Tbsp of Butter Scotch syrup in a small bowl or cup.
  2. 2Tbsp of Redi Whip. (I usually eyeball everything)
  3. 1Tbsp of Cream Soda.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Pour into the drink.
This is how I have been making butter beer for years now and I love it. It is such a good treat and I love it for summer time. Who doesn't want to feel like they are in Harry Potter? No one. I hope you enjoy your butter beer and I hope it makes you feel a little bit closer to that wonderful, magical world we love so much!
